アメリカのシンガー・ソングライター　レオン・ラッセルは1942年4月2日にオクラホマ州で生まれました。

レオンは、キーボード奏者としてキャリアを積んで1968年以降はソロアーチストとして活躍しています。非常に泥臭い曲を泥臭く歌うのが特徴で、彼の曲は多くのアーチストがカバーしました。中でも、都会的なサウンドで知られるカーペンターズが歌った「スーパー・スター」「ソング・フォー・ユー」「マスカレード」の3曲は同じ曲とは思えないほど対照的でした。

「タイト・ロープ」は1971年にリリースされた彼の最初のヒット曲です。

American singer-songwriter Leon Russell was born in Oklahoma on April 2, 1942.

Leon took his  career as a keyboard player and has been active as a solo artist since 1968 . He is characterized by singing very earthy the gory songs, and his songs  were covered by a lot of artists . Among them, three songs of Carpenters, known for urban sound sang "Super Star", "Song For You", "Masquerade" were a contrastand  I do not think the same song.

"Tight Rope" is the first hit song of his released in 1971.
