シベリウスの交響詩「吟遊詩人」op.64は、1913年3月27日に、シベリウスの指揮ヘルシンキ・フィルハーモニー協会の演奏で初演されました。

この曲はシベリウスの作品の中でも、最も抒情性豊かで甘美な作品のひとつです。フィンランドの叙事詩「カレワラ」を語る吟遊詩人を描いた作品で、バスクラリネットを含んだ2管編成の曲です。弱音の部分が多く、テンポもゆったりとしていますが、その為に後半のクライマックスでは高い効果が得られています。

A work depicting the bard to tell the epic "Kalevala" of Finland, is a two tube organization of the song that contains the bass clarinet. Many complaints of part, also spacious tempo, but with high effect is obtained in the second half of climax.
