今日の音楽 3月12日 チェロ交響曲(ブリテン) ; Music for today Mar.12 Cello symphony

ブリテンのチェロと管弦楽のための交響曲は1964年3月12日に、ロストロポーヴィチのチェロ独奏、モスクワ・フィルの演奏で初演されました。

この曲は、チェロ協奏曲と呼ばれる事もありますが、チェロとオーケストラが互角に渡り合う事や、4楽章で構成されている事など交響曲の要素が強い事から付けられたと考えられます。

冒頭は、不協和音やら前衛的なサウンドが支配しますが、次第にブリテンらしくクラシックなスタイルを出していきます。ブリテンの他の曲を聴きなれているとちょっと違和感を感じますが、最後まで聴けば納得。こういう曲です。

Symphony for Cello and Orchestra of Britten was premiered at the performance of cello solo of Rostropovich and  the Moscow Philharmonic in March 12 1964.
