ドビュッシーの歌曲「恋人たちの散歩道」は1911年1月14日に初演されました。

17世紀の詩人トリスタン・レルミットの28連の長い詩の1・2・4連、14～16連、22～24連を取り出した3つの部分から出来ている歌曲です。「この暗い洞窟のほとり」「ぼくの言う事を聴いてよ　愛しのクリメーヌよ」「僕はふるえる　君の顔を見ると」です。

ドビュッシーの後期の歌曲は代表作「ビリティスの歌」と同様に、メロディの美しさだけでなく、伴奏の和声とフランス語の響きの調和による美しさを特徴としています。
