歌手コニー・フランシスは1938年12月12日にニュー・アークで生まれました。

11歳の頃からショーに出演し1955年にデビューしましたがしばらくは鳴かず飛ばず。1958年に"Who's Sorry Now"が大ヒットしてから順調にヒットを飛ばしました。

ヴァケイションは1962年に発売されビルボードの9位になったヒット曲です。日本でも多くの歌手がカバーしていますが、中でも弘田三枝子は20万枚を売り上げました。
