ウェーバーのクラリネット協奏曲第2番変ホ長調op.74は、1811年11月25日にミュンヘンでベールマンの独奏で初演されました。

ウェーバーはクラリネットのための作品を数多く作曲しています。それは全てミュンヘンの宮廷管弦楽団に在籍していたクラリネットの名手ハインリヒ・ヨーゼフ・ベールマンの為に作曲されたものです。1811年にベールマンによって初演されたクラリネット小協奏曲を聴いて感動したバイエルン国王マクシミリアン一世の依頼で、この半年ほど前に初演されたクラリネット協奏曲第1番と共に作曲されたものです。

当時のクラリネットの性能の限界に迫る華やかな作品です。

Clarinet Concerto No. 2 in E flat major op.74 of Weber　was premiered at the solo of Beruman in Munich on November 25, 1811.

Weber has a number composed a work for clarinet. These all has been composed for the clarinet virtuoso Heinrich Baermann that were enrolled in Munich court orchestra. At the request of the King of Bavaria Maximilian Ⅰwho was impressed listening to Clarinet  concertino premiered by Beruman in 1811, as the case may be, and have been composed with the Clarinet Concerto No. 1, which was premiered ago the last six months.

It is a gorgeous piece that approaches at the time of the clarinet of the limits of performance.
