アメリカの作曲家コープランドは1900年11月14日にブルックリンで生まれました。

コープランドは16歳から作曲を学び、21歳の時にパリに留学しナディア・ブーランジェに師事しました。
3年後に帰国し、「アメリカ的」な音楽を模索する中で「エル・サロン・メヒコ」、「ビリー・ザ・キッド」、「ロデオ」や「アパラチアの春」など多くの作品を生み出しました。どの曲も非常に開放的かつ叙情的な楽しい作品ばかりです。

1942年にシンシナティ交響楽団の指揮者グーセンスの依頼で作曲したのが「市民のためのファンファーレ」です。この曲は金管楽器と打楽器のみによる編成の曲で、後にスポーツなどのファンファーレの典型となった曲です。クラシック以外でも、ローリング・ストーンズやエマーソン・レイク&パーマーなどロックのミュージシャンにも取り上げられています。

American composer Copland was born in Brooklyn on November 14, 1900.

Copeland studied the composer from the age of 16, and studied  in Paris at the time of the 21-year-old from Nadia Boulanger.
He returned after three years, and while seeking  the "American" music he composed many music such as "El Salon Mexico", "Billy the Kid", "Rodeo" and "Appalachian Spring" . Every song is just fun very open and lyrical work.

In 1942 he composed at the request of the conductor of Goossens of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra "Fanfare for the Common Man". This song is a song of the organization by only brass and percussion, is a song that became the epitome of fanfare, such as sports. Other than classic, it has also been featured in Rock of musicians such as the Rolling Stones and Emerson Lake & Palmer.
