今日の音楽 10月25日 序曲「祖国」 ; Music for today Oct 25 "Patrie"

作曲家ジョルジュ・ビゼーは1838年10月25日にパリで生まれました。

「カルメン」と「アルルの女」で知られるビゼーは、38歳で亡くなった早逝の作曲家でした。生前は高い評価を得られず、古今のオペラの代表作となった「カルメン」初演のわずか3ヶ月後に亡くなったため、ビゼーの評価は死後急激に高まりました。

序曲「祖国」は、元々オペラ「ドン・ロドリーグ」の序曲として作曲されましたが、初演を予定していたパリ･オペラ座が焼失してしまったために中止になり、その後ビゼーが演奏会用序曲に改作したものです。

Composer Georges Bizet was born in Paris on October 25, 1838.

The composer Bizet known for "L'arlesienne" and "Carmen" died at only 38 years old. He can not be obtained the acclaim during his lifetime,  because he died only three months after "Carmen" premiere, but  by "Carmen" one of the most famous masterpiece of opera  , Bizet was growing rapidly famous after death.

Overture "Patie" has been composed as overture the opera "Don Rodrigues" originally, but will stop for the Paris Opera, which had planned to premiere had burned down, Bizet adapted it as a concert overture .
