作曲家アントニオ・ヴィヴァルディは1741年7月28日に亡くなっています。

ヴィヴァルディは、彼の活動していた18世紀前半はコレルリと並んで高い評価を得ていましたが、18世紀末から19世紀にかけては忘れられた存在でした。これはJ.S.バッハも同様で19世紀後半にバッハが再評価されるとヴィヴァルディも研究されるようになりました。

ヴィヴァルディの作品は、紛失してしまったり出自がはっきりしないものが多いのですが、夥しい数の協奏曲と宗教音楽が中心になっています。協奏曲の頂点となるのが「調和の霊感」です。

調和の霊感は12曲からなる協奏曲集で1本または複数のヴァイオリンとチェロを独奏楽器とした作品集です。
第10番は4本のヴァイオリンとチェロのための協奏曲で、後にバッハが「4台のチェンバロのための協奏曲BWV1065」に編曲しています。ヴィヴァルディの原曲も勿論溌剌とした曲ですが、バッハの編曲では比較的弱々しい印象のあるチェンバロに対し迫力さえ感じる作品になっています。

"L'estro Armonico"  is the 12 work collections for the soli of one or more violin and cello .
The No.10 Concerto for 4 Violin and Cello , Bach has been arranged by the "Concerto BWV1065 for 4 harpsichord " later . It is a tune that was lively course the original song of Vivaldi, but it has to work even feel powerful for the harpsichord with a feeble impression in the relatively arrangement of Bach.
