アメリカの俳優ロバート・ミッチャムは1997年7月1日に肺癌で死亡しました。

ロバート・ミッチャムは1917年にコネチカット州で生まれましたが、すぐに父親を鉄道事故で失い母親の実家のあるニューヨーク州に移住しました。家庭に恵まれず荒んだ生活をしていましたが、出稼ぎ先のカリフォルニアでアマチュア劇団と出会い1942年には映画デビューをしました。

1945年に「G.I.ジョウ」でアカデミー助演男優賞にノミネートされ、1954年の「帰らざる河」でトップ・スターの仲間入りをしました。

その後「史上最大の作戦」「恐怖の岬」「大いなる眠り」など数々の映画に主演し、現役のまま亡くなっています。

「ライアンの娘」は1970年に公開された映画で、アイルランドの寒村を舞台にしたヒューマン・ドラマ。音楽はモーリス・ジャールが担当しています。

Actor Robert Mitchum in the United States died of lung cancer on July 1, 1997.

Robert Mitchum was born in Connecticut in 1917, but he moved soon to New York with the home of his mother lost his father in railway accident. He lived rough life because he was not blessed with a home, and when he worked in California, he met an amateru theater company and he  made the film debut in the 1942 .

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor "The story of GI Joe" in 1945, and joined the ranks of the top star in the "River of No Return" in 1954.

And starred in numerous movies "The Longest Day," "Cape Fear" and "The Big Sleep" and then, we no longer remain active.

The movie was released in 1970 is "Ryan's Daughter", human drama that takes place the poor village of Ireland. Maurice Jarre was in charge of music.
