作曲家リヒャルト・ワーグナーは1813年5月22日にライプツィヒで生まれました。

今までワーグナーはオペラを中心に多数の曲を取り上げて来ましたが、今日はワーグナーが完成した唯一の交響曲ハ長調を紹介します。

この曲は、まだワーグナーがベートーヴェンに心酔していた10代の頃に作曲したもので、4楽章でオーソドックスな2管編成というまさしくベートーヴェンを追随した曲になっています。そこには、ワーグナー・チューバもトリスタン和音も登場しません。

ただしワーグナーらしい輝かしい響きを聴くことができます。

Composer Richard Wagner was born in Leipzig on May 22, 1813.
